1936 Monodial AC Super

This was an Ebay find in July 2009 - see Uniselector digital clock for another even more unusual find.

The 1936 Monodial A.C. Super was a British wireless kit for a design by W.T. Cocking published in the summer of 1935 in Wireless World magazine. Kits were supplied by CAC - the City Accumulator Co. Ltd. London.  The receiver kit was priced at £10 6s 9d and the power unit at £4 11s 0d.

  Though complete there is some damage.  Here you can see the left hand control knob is broken and the tuning dial pointer is missing. Above the dial is the "Tuneon" neon tuning indicator.
 From above.  All coils and even the tuning capacitor are screened.
 
 The wiring looks to be in good shape.
  Though there is a faulty soldered joint here.
